A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Brian K. Raboin, who joined Allied Universal in 2018, has been working in the security industry for more than 34 years. Brian owned his own security company in Boston and has worked at almost every position in the security industry.

Brian’s love of country is what inspired him to serve his country as a Marine Corps Intelligence Operative.

“I had an American flag hanging over my bed when I was 10 years old,” said Brian.  “I always wanted to be one of ‘The Few, The Proud, The Marines’” – yes, a commercial got to me!”

Brian was stationed in Little Creek, Virginia where the Intelligence Unit trains. From there, he was sent to Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

His biggest military accomplishment was when he graduated from boot camp as a United States Marine.

“I was told by many people I would never make it,” said Brian. “The Marine Corps Recruit Depot in Parris Island, South Carolina was the biggest challenge I ever faced. This island represented a place where more people failed than succeeded. Not only did I make it through Parris Island; I crushed it.”

According to Brian, the Marine Corps gave him the confidence to take on any challenge with an open mind and a positive attitude. Unfortunately, his career in the military was cut short after a back injury.

“My military experience definitely influenced my career in security,” Brian said. “Having the discipline to follow orders, the smarts to adapt and overcome challenges and to help your team succeed is what I learned in the military.”

Brian encourages veterans to apply for jobs at Allied Universal as working in the security industry is a perfect segue after a military career.

“The ‘Team First’ attitude at Allied Universal is a sharp reminder of how I felt when I was an active Marine,” Brian said. “The Southwest team I work with are extremely supportive. There is positive motivation at every turn and they truly care about you as a person. This type of caring does not exist in the workplace anymore.”

In his free time, Brian volunteers at the Veterans Homeless Shelter in LA and Boston.
