Brenda Studley
Vice President of Recruiting - West, Allied Universal
Brenda Studley joined Allied Universal® in September 2017 because she wanted to be part of a growing industry and company that has the opportunity to make a difference every day with its job candidates, employees and clients.
Prior to moving west to California, Brenda was Vice President, Talent Acquisition for Wells Fargo in Minneapolis, Minnesota where she led the Talent Acquisition function for the Home Lending Servicing with more than 20,000 team members throughout the United States. She developed the Talent Acquisition vision, strategy and plan as well as led a team of four Recruiting Managers and 40 recruiters to source and hire over 10,000 team members per year.
Today, Brenda leads and develops a team of over 80 recruiters and staffing specialists to source diverse talent and recruit over 100,000 full and part-time employees every year. In 2018, she hired and promoted many Veterans on her Recruiting team and implemented new sourcing strategies that resulted in an increase in Veteran hiring with over 10% Veteran hires. AUS was recognized as Veterans Employer of the year in CA, TX and WA.
What are some of the challenges that Brenda faces?
“Competing for quality talent in tight labor markets and low unemployment is a challenge,” says Brenda. “Many states require a security guard card license before a security professional can work and many states have a long or slow process for candidates to secure these licenses.”
Despite these challenges, the Recruiting, Operations and HR teams have implemented many efficient and effective processes and systems to increase applicant flow by 22.5%, candidate conversion by 23% and hires by 26.3% during the last two years.
What advice does Brenda have for those who are about to start a career at Allied Universal?
“Working at Allied Universal means that you will have the opportunity to make a difference every day in the lives of others,” says Brenda. “Provide great service to clients and candidates, work hard, have a high sense of urgency, be a responsible team player, and tell others about what a phenomenal company that you work at and recruit them to join us.”
Brenda, is a member of Compassion International and World Vision which are two non-profit humanitarian organizations that help impoverished children, and is also actively involved in feeding the homeless in California through her association with Saddleback Church.
